As part of its ongoing commitment to innovation, safety, and accessibility, Intamin recently welcomed representatives from BMAB (Bundesverband Menschen mit Arm- oder Beinamputation) to its facilities for a dedicated workshop and testing program focused on ride accessibility to disabled people.
BMAB is a German association that supports people with limb differences and amputations while promoting awareness, education, and inclusion. Through its extensive experience and close connection with individuals who use prosthetic devices in their daily lives, the organization provides valuable expertise on a wide range of accessibility-related topics.
The visit marked the beginning of a closer collaboration between Intamin and BMAB, bringing together practical experience to further explore how to improve the inclusion for disabled people of Intamin’s vehicles and accommodate a broader range of riders while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Practical testing on containment seats
The workshop focused on understanding how different types of prosthetis or missing limbs interact with restraint systems. By combining discussions, demonstrations, and practical evaluations at Intamin Deutschland facility, participants were able to examine a variety of real-world scenarios and gather valuable insights for future development.
The practical testing provided an opportunity to deepen Intamin’s understanding of how prosthetic devices can contribute to rider containment in certain situations and where specific considerations may still be required.
