Intamin Ltd., located in Glen Burnie, Maryland, serves as Intamin Amusement Rides’ local partner in the U.S., providing sales support, project management, spare parts and service for the North American clients. With a team operating in the same time zone, customers benefit from fast, responsive, local support.

Expanded Facility for Growing Needs

First, Intamin Ltd. recently completed a major facility expansion, at its Glen Burnie, Maryland location, to better support their expanding operations and meet the growing demands of the U.S. market. Office space has nearly doubled, and the warehouse space has grown from 1,400 sq-ft (130m²) to 3,600 sq-ft (334m²), a 2.5-fold increase.

Alongside these physical upgrades, the team has also expanded. 7 full-time professionals are now based at the facility, providing responsive sales support, expert project management, and dependable parts and service technical support.

With this experienced and dedicated team in place, Intamin Ltd. is well positioned to deliver timely and tailored support to its customers.

This investment in infrastructure and people reflects an ongoing commitment to delivering comprehensive, local, and dependable support to the parks and partners served by Intamin Ltd.

Early Rehab Program

Intamin Ltd. is excited to introduce the Early Rehab Program, specially designed for seasonal park partners in the U.S. This initiative offers advantages on early annual rehab spare parts orders, along with the convenience of short-term storage. Once an order is placed, parts are consolidated from various Intamin facilities in Europe and stored locally in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

They are then shipped to the park in January, providing ample time for annual maintenance, ensuring attractions are ready for a successful spring opening.

This streamlined process allows for efficient production, storage, and delivery—helping parks stay ahead of schedule and open on time.

Year-Round Spare Parts Support

For parks that operate year-round, Intamin Ltd. offers a quarterly spare parts program to ensure uninterrupted attraction performance. Orders are placed in advance, consolidated and stored in the newly expanded warehouse space, and shipped to each park at agreed-upon intervals. If needed, shipments can be expedited to accommodate operational needs.

This system ensures consistent availability of spare parts, helping year-round park partners maintain peak performance throughout the year.

Emergency spare parts

To further enhance its responsiveness, Intamin Ltd. is building a strategic inventory of key spare parts, including components commonly used across multiple ride systems. By maintaining a core stock of these critical items, the company aims to minimize downtime and provide fast, effective support when it matters most.

Intamin Ltd. takes pride in offering world-class service that is local, responsive, and aligned with the evolving needs of its customers. The company looks forward to continued growth in partnership with its clients, supporting their success season after season.

Intamin Sustainability: Reducing the energy consumption

Intamin Sustainability: Reducing the energy consumption 2560 1920 Luc Richard

Sustainability at Intamin is now part of our mission. Together with our partners and suppliers we work to find and implement sustainable solutions that reduce our overall supply chain emissions. In this first “Sustainability blog,” we will provide an overview of our partners involved in our supply chain and their efforts to reduce energy consumption.

These efforts include the installation of solar panels, improvements in facility insulation, and the use of district heating in certain establishments. While further sustainable actions are expected in the coming years, each partner is responsible for proactively reducing their own emissions, just as they proactively develop and improve their technologies.

Solar panels at Intamin Headquarters

The headquarters of Intamin in Schaan, Liechtenstein, is the core of our company. It hosts our design and sales departments, project management teams, calculation and engineering teams, after-sales and refurbishment team, as well as HR and accounting. This central hub ensures seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.

Two connected twin buildings are the Intamin’s home in Schaan. The roof of both buildings was covered with solar panels 10 years ago. 137m2 of solar panels can cover around 25% of the power needed in the Schaan offices. Moreover, in order to reduce emissions as far as possible, the other 75% of energy demand that comes from the grid is based on renewable energies.

Improving energy efficiency at Intamin’s Factory in Germany

Intamin’s factory in Germany is the specialist when it comes to creating artistic fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) bodies. Whereas it is a vehicle, a boat, or a train.

Moving towards sustainability, Intamin Germany not only installed 600 solar panels but also improved the insulation of different workshop spaces. This resulted in heating savings of around 75% and covering around 41% of its electrical consumption with their own solar panels.

Intamin Sustainability at the Stakotra Factory in Slovakia

The Stakotra factory in Slovakia is where giant steel pipes are turned into roller coaster tracks. This 16 935m2 factory of precise manufacturing was equipped in February 2024 with 1050 solar panels, producing a combined output of 510 kW.

These panels cover about 30% of Stakotra’s electricity needs, furthering the goals of Intamin Sustainability by significantly reducing our reliance on non-renewable energy sources.

What’s Next?

Intamin’s headquarters in Liechtenstein are about to expand! The new Intamin building in Schaan, expected to finalise by the end of 2026, will be provided with solar panels.

Focusing on solar panels and energy efficiency, the expansion of the headquarters will include increased solar panels coverage. The new solar panels are expected to produce around 67,000kWh annually, more than double of the expected electricity required. This extra energy will supply the existing building, further reducing the energy consumption and overall emissions of Intamin’s facilities.
